I agree, some new skills/abilities are needed. Like I've said in previous posts, it is alittle silly to have us go ten grueling levels without earning a single new skill. I really hope disney adds something like that.
Also, an addition for a voodoo doll spell could be called Shared Strength (or something like that) and it would take a small amount of health and voodoo from you and transfer it to your ally, thus giving us the ability to heal our friends' voodoo pool.
For the staff I would suggest a spell called Uproot. This spell would shoot vines from the ground at your feet, to your enemy, making them fall and be stunned. They would also be wounded (DoT) and take a high amount of damage from the thorns on the vines.
