I believe this also helps to relieve your pagefile, clear out any memory leaks, and cleans out the video card memory buffer when you quit the game. I also have a low end graphic card (by choice, I use it to test games on the low-end settings) and notice the same problems if I have been playing longer than 4 hours. I just quit out of the game, reboot the computer and re-enter the game. Everything is ok for another 4 hours.

Actually, I think that's more so that they can say that they warned you if you get repetitive motion strain or have some other problem from playing the game too long.
The reason you gave is good too.
