Not even close. I chose to get some of the more difficult weapons to master out of the way first, and I hadn't even mastered my
first weapon before they quit giving you notoriety on a weapon after mastering it. In fact, I was surprised to hear that we were able to in the first place! That explained how some people were getting to 40 quicker than I thought was possible. They had mastered and continued to use the doll and/or staff.
It was a long time after the update before I hit 40, and it was just a day or two earlier than me that Shhlatkinz had.
