i think the invasions should be permanent. They could very easily by instance oriented, like the BP boss battle. Instead of crewing up, all youd have to do is choose the island you want to defend and click search. itll than gather 20 or so pirates from the queue to the island of your choice, where u hve to defend it. disney could than incorporate them into the 2nd story quest, as said before. at a certain level or quest completion requisite youd unlock new islands to defend, starting with port royal.
