Here's my thought. Yes, I'd love to have a ship of the line. But not until they put out bigger ships to fight. What's the point of taking a ship of the line out against a Behemoth or Dreadnought. I can fight those just fine in even a simple frigate.

As for the gold cap. They will either raise it past 150K or eliminate it all together. Look at the rate the ship prices go up. A Light Frigate is 500 I believe. I may be wrong on that one. A Standard Frigate is 5K. A War Frigate is 60K. In my opinion they wouldn't make a ship of the line cost anything less than 100K. Probably more based on the rate of price increase. (Sorry, yeah, gonna inflict math on you guys here.) Between a Light and a Standard frigate is 1,000% price increase. From a Standard to a War Frigate is a 1,200% price increase. So then following that a Ship of the Line should be a 1,400% increase, or 840,000 gold. Now that would be pushing it in the extreme don't ya think? Even 1,000% increase would still be a 600K ship. Now, a 500% increase would land a 300K ship. If the gold cap were eliminated all together, then that would be a reasonable price to pay for such a serious ship.

I do agree that you should have higher qualifications to get it, but only say level 20 sailing. No limit on who can get on it, who can sail it and such. Simply if you have the money and the level 20 sail, you can get it. It would certainly give all the currently max gold people something to work for.

Final thought, yes, a new ship would be very nice indeed. But before any of that a second story chapter, that follows recovering the Pearl. That's a whole nother thread, so I'll leave that alone. So there's my two pieces of eight on this.
