As long as they fix this issue, it shouldn't matter how long it takes to fix the problem. Re-opening test before this issue is fixed could cause even more problems, which would be a huge set back for the game. The live servers are where we're supposed to
play the game, where as the test servers, we are helping the developers by
testing, trying our best to help them prevent these issues from spreading to live.

I am not a programmer but this feels like a very small problem, like a broken line of code, that set off a cascade reaction until the whole thing spun out of control. I would imagine that it is harder to find this sort of problem than it is to fix a giant one. Like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I agree, given what has happened, there may be a minor problem causing a huge issue. The first day of the update, everything was fine. Everyone had what they collected, and what they previously owned. After a while game crashes became more frequent, and this bug came into being. So i'm just gonna guess that the code was fine, then something went wrong with a tiny portion of it when it was applied to the game.
