I have to agree though, a lot of the guilds that my pirate grew up around are either dead or dying. Of course, I'm not saying all of them are, which is a good thing.

And I partially have to agree with Mac as well. It tooks us over a year to hit 100 mark (though I have to admit, we aren't the kind of ones to spend our time out and recruiting... LOL ) mainly because of the wide variety of guilds running around. According to the Pirate Guild numbers, theres, what, over 700,000 guilds? Thats 699,999 competitors (unless you want to subtract all the guilds that are dead, but I don't have a calculator that big) you have to beat out in order to find those little gems we call "good seeds." Creating a guild is significantly tougher these days than back in 2008.

Of course, that doesn't mean guilds can't have growth spurts over night. There are guilds here on POF that have passed 100, 200, even 300 members in their first few weeks. Not exactly am I saying that they guilded the most active, nicest players, and nor is this directed at anybody, but still.

What's today's Lessons of the Day? Quality Over Quanity, Your Pirate's Childhood is Slowy Dying, and stuff like that.
