I used to be an SvSer back in the old days, back when it was more... clean cut, per say?
I still enjoy taking a VS out from time to time with my mates to wreck havoc on the seas, although my cannons are a bit rusted after breaking away from it many moons ago, aye?
Aside from the consumingness of having a guild, a family, and other obligations, it seems as though that I've been drawn away from SvS for.. well, three main reasons.
For one, the cheaters, hackers, and glitchers that migrated in to SvS way long ago really offset me. I know a lot of you many say a lot of the bugs have been fixed, but I'm positive I'm going to be the one person that ends up bringing his ship up against something similar to the HMS Invincible.
Secondly, I never manage to find a crew that's very.. patient. I'm the kind of person that will be willing to spend hours on hours doing one thing, no matter how hard it is. To the contrary, I often get stuck with mates who get sunk twice, and say "Forget it!" and run off. Nice.
Not to mention... I never really liked how competitive SvS has gotten. People will devote their entire time online to SvS, and doing one thing to offset them is like cutting the wrong wire on a bomb. I understand if some people get upset if they lose a few times, but there is never a need to explode over something. (And, just for those pirates out there, I don't think being good in SvS gives you a license to "do whatever the hell I want!"

)
Oh, and my third reason, is just that I hate light sloops.
