I think I can guess the problem already, but I'll ask a few questions just to be sure.
- Which section are you trying to add your .GIF to? (Actual Profile Picture or Avatar)
- What are the original dimensions of the animated .GIF?
For either to animate, the original animated image has to have dimensions that match or are less than the maximum dimensions allowed here at POF. If the dimensions of your image exceed that which PiratesOnlineForums.com allows, the site will automatically re-size the image to the maximum allowed size and remove the animation.
Max dimensions for Profile Pictures are 250 x 250
Max dimensions for Avatars are 64 x 64
