It may not guarentee the updates will come faster, but it is a very, very good thing.
With the recent influx of unlimited pirates, coupled with the usual explosion during the holidays, this kind of money will keep this game with a strong backing; motivation for the current developers, the ability to hire more developers, better funds in terms of enhancing the game overall, and, of course, giving Big D a good reason to keep us around for a while.
So, it may not necessarily mean the release of updates faster, as it does the quality. And I take quality over quantity any day
