I was there as well, (not the two pirates but the Cove incident, for some of it) and from what I heard, and what I have done in the past, Del did the common procedure. The procedure is ask politely and explain what you are doing, but if they get "someone else" to argue for them that hasn't seen the whole story, that's just wrong. What I heard is his "wife" thought
you had invaded him.
