The majority of the time, when I'm doing good, I'll be ten kills ahead of my deaths, which is weird.

I know this is my first shooter, and I should be patient, but I want to get better. Do you guys recommend turning up combat training to high difficulty, and playing that for hours and hours to get better? So far that seems to be doing average for me, and I'm not sure how to get better.
First off let me say that I'm a PC gamer...sure I'll play a console game now and then when visting my sister and my nephew wants to play a console game, but even he mostly plays on PC now...

My k/d ratio is usually anywhere from 6:1 to 8:1...depending on the map and players it can at times be higher...also know that I've been playing FPS games since the original Wolfenstein/DOOM/etc up through today's modern shooters...so I have a bit of experience having formed clans, playing in competition ladders and organized leagues like PGL/CPL/etc as well as being one of the top leaders in a major gaming community up until a few months ago...

To answer Mac's question about turning up the combat training, I would honestly answer no...for two reasons:

1) playing against bots are fine, but on higher difficulty levels they'll pick you off with out of this world shots that most human players could not pull off simply because they're controlled by the computer...

2) playing against 'real' foes is far better because they can make mistakes same as you...they're also unpredictable which means you have to think how to outsmart them...bots become predictable over time...

There are so many that just run-and-gun, bunnyhopping their way around a map just out for kills and fame...the ones who score higher are actually the ones who sit in wait that know the most travelled places/routes, the best hiding spots, etc and pick off those that are just out running around instead of trying to play as a team and staying in a group/squad...when you R&G you might be running so fast that you miss a player sitting patiently in a corner with their sites on you...

Sure there's some that do good with the R&G method, usually running so fast that they'll knife you before shooting at you...but they're easily delt with if you know how...same as with other opponents...you basically need to know when to throw a grenade or flash bang and where to toss it...and just as most people when firing will stand there and shoot, just drop or go prone soon as you see them and then fire...

Most important...learn the maps inside and out...

Hope that helps some...
