My son runs the beta server on his computer allowing the other computers on the home network to log into our own private server where we can play together, or you can open it up and allow friends to join you, or you can play on other servers that other players are running. (There are no formal centralized company run game servers like potco has). My son likes to seek out mods for the game, but be carefull, he picked up a nasty trojan in the process. The company is in Europe so you will need a pay pal account to pay for a license that allows you to log into the game (that's for the beta, the creative version I believe is free, but all you can do with it is build stuff)
