My Ideas:

Pikes were cheap ways to reach across bulwarks to kill the crewman of a grappled ship, but they were obsolete by 1700 and unwieldy on a ship. So, scratch that. Axes were common and could be found on ships to cut lines and grapples, so they were definitely used by pirates and I could imagine them in game. Scimitars are Arab and North African swords resembling cutlasses, so Barbary Pirates could have used them. They could be released alongside xebec ships. Rapiers were much more common than sabres and more lightweight, but they are essentially the same viewed from an in-game standpoint. Mortars and Howitzers were fastened aboard era ships, and I would love to see them released with their own skills and ammo (IE: Quicklime Shells, which essentially rained fire onto the target). Fastening pins were aplenty onboard ships and could be used as an improvised weapon. They were blunt wooden objects resembling half of a rolling pin used to tie down rigging. However, I wouldn't see the point in putting them in-game.
