Star Wars Battlefront? That game was epic.
As for the factions, its pirates online. They should just have Pirate Team Blue, Pirate Team Red, Pirate Team Green, and Pirate Team Yellow. They shouldn't do all the different factions, even if people pretend to do it anyway. Other than that, I like it. Perhaps the server could have a completely different layout. Basically, each team has one large island that is like the main ports. There could be one island at the north end of the map, one at the south, one at the east, and one at the west. When a team is on their home island, they have attack and defense bonuses, making the "natives" harder to defeat.
Spread throughout the map would be wild islands varying in size, and each would have a little fort in the center. To capture the fort, you would need to simply rid the fort of any enemy players and stand there for a few seconds. Then your teams flag is raised, and the island is yours. The home island cannot be conquered until all wild islands controlled by that team are captured by another faction. It can, however, be attacked and have its defenses weakened. Once the home island of a team is conquered, the players on that team automatically join the team of the team that conquered their home island.
At sea, the ships will have their sails colored by their team color, and can fight each other, much like in SvS. If a team ever conquers the sea, then they win the game, and perhaps can earn some special prize, like a tattoo, a bunch of gold, or a special weapon/skill. A little victory screen will pop up, and after 30 seconds, the game resets itself, so all teams are placed back onto their original islands, and all wild islands become neutral. After every four hours, the game resets itself automatically.
I like the idea you have Seaking. Not just a regular PvP server, but a server where you are supposed to do some conquering, planning, and tactics.
