OKAY MATES! We're going to be starting in just a few minutes. Please get online, if you haven't already. I will be EDITING this post to keep everyone updated on everything. I'll tell you during the quest to refer to this post if need be. Now, lets do this and have some fun!
We knew that Oberon was on Padres, so thats where we started. We decided that he would probably have been buried in a cave, deep inside so he couldn't be robbed. So we headed to The Catacombs (after all, people are buried in Catacombs). After a LOT of searching in the Catacombs, we finally found what was probably the place. It was a large burial shrine with a sarcophagus up in the front. That was it. So then came the worst part. Deciding who would have to dig up the dead body of Captain Oberon. We actually got a volunteer! Billy decided to start digging the place up for us.

And then finally, he finds the body... unfortunately, Billy was really hungry.

Ah well, it was The Sword we were after anyway. Unfortunately, it wasn't there. Looking around the area, we found a little compass. I was able to trace it back to the 1650's, and it looked like it was from a high ranking Spanish Conquistador. We realized that they were the reason the sword was gone. They had stolen the sword! Since it was from the 1650's, these people would long be dead, so we figured that we would have to raise this Conquistador from the dead, so we could speak with him. So where do you go to raise the dead? Raven's Cove of course!
Now, we can't exactly ask those Rage Ghosts how to conjure the dead... that wouldn't end nicely, would it? So we went to the one living human on Raven's Cove, Crazy Ned. After chasing him around, beating him a few times, and Billy almost gobbling his arm down, we finally got him to speak.

We asked him if he recognized this compass, and it seemed that he did. He responded in a little riddle (of course he did... nothing can be easy for us can it?).
Quote:
The man was mighty and tall,
But beware, by his dagger you will fall,
Stuck between the living and dead,
Glaring with the red globes in his head,
If finding the sword be your goal,
Then be careful not to lose your soul...

We put together the pieces of Ned's riddle, and discovered that it was none other than Foulberto Smasho who had raided the tomb. So we headed there, and I decided to go in alone. We didn't want him to feel intimidated by all of us pirates, so I risked my life to see if I could get him to talk. Here's a little chat log of the episode.
Quote:
Foulberto:
"Who goes there? Oh. A mortal. Either leave now, or I rip you limp from limb and use your bits to decorate my throne."
Davy Fireskull:
"I would like to know of a very special sword. Oberon's Darkness. Perhaps you've heard of it?"
|
Smasho had a glint in his eye. A glint that screamed that he had pulled the wool over someone's eyes. Someone oppressive...
Quote:
Foulberto:
"Me? Share my most precious treasure with a fleshy pink mortal? HAHAHAHAHAHA! Good one, amigo. I haven't laughed that hard since the Corsairios Del Rey were sunk in that battle against France."
Davy Fireskull:
"What use do you have for it? A husk of the man you were, now stuck in a small cave never to leave... You could pass the power on to a successor, I could free you, I would have the power to! Just let me know the location of the sword, and you and your soldiers can finally pass on."
Foulberto:
"Are you commanding me, Mortal?"
Davy Fireskull:
"No, no, I-I-I..."
Foulberto:
"NO MORTAL will tell me what to do!"
|
He threw a knife at me. I got lucky, it missed my head by an inch. I used my Silver Freeze to freeze him solid. That bought me enough time to escape. Foulberto knows the location of the sword. And if won't tell us diplomatically, then he will on his knees...
So we all headed in, and confronted the ghost. There was a long battle, Smasho barely flinching at our attacks, while we were crippled at his.

Finally he was defeated, and in the chest that dropped, I was able to find a map. Its in Spanish, and Foulberto's hand writing isn't the nicest... there is something strange about this map too. I'll be investigating it, and we can follow its clue on the 23rd.
Good work mates! Before long, we'll have that sword!
