I am not sure it would degrade the game but I kind of get why you might think so...So many things have been added to POTCO in the past year that have made pirates into super-pirates. Wonder-weapons and potions and revives have completely changed the face of the game. I know that my level 50 test pirate hasn't been knocked-out in nearly 6 months. I spent my last log-in taking out Colossus Flag ships solo with my light sloop. I couldn't have done this a couple of years ago but between my rare cannon ram and my attack level 79 broadsword, it was almost
too easy.
To me, a Ship Of The Line is just another way to tilt the advantage back toward the pirates.
And now that I have said that, I still think they're pretty cool and would buy one in a second if they can work out the bugs.
