Welcome to the forums, and to POTCO! Considering how your pirate is only level 9, and you're still relatively new to the game, I suggest that in order to make things a little bit easier for you, you take in to consideration perhaps befriending a few of the pirates on these forums in-game, or possibly even joining a guild.
If you would be interested in meeting up with a few pirates in game, then try posting a thread in the
Crews and Mateys Section to see who would be able to meet up with you. If you're looking for a more long-term voyage with other pirates, then you can check out the
Guilds and Clans Section, as well as the subforums of the guilds which are sponsored by the forums (
Black Barts Krewe, my own guild
Partners N Crime, and
Shadow Sorcerors.) Take a look at all of the guilds, including their rules and so forth, and if you're interested in one in particular, Private Message the Guildmaster about checking it out.
