Didn't notice this comment until now; I stayed up all night to register on Day 1 and yes, in my opinion, it's completely worth it. Story-wise there isn't much information, so you'll have to read the books along with it, but there's a ton of new content that wasn't in the books. And it's not
just reading; there are also mini-games, like Wizard Duelling and Potion Brewing -- both of which are very fun and addicting (although it takes a long time for potions to brew). You also get your own wand, pet, Gringotts bank account, and get sorted into a House.
I was sorted into Slytherin, the pet I bought was a Ginger Cat, and my wand is: Hornbeam, 13 1/2", Unicorn core, pliant.
