I don't think the ships look unrealistic at all, but it's what they do that gets me... ships reversing like a car? I've never heard of it!
I can agree with Disney about making the new bodies more realistic. The old ones were pretty out there, and although they were cool (especially the triangular male torso!), I respect their decision to replace them.
