One Year

Today marks Mayhem's first year in PNC! I'm pretty sure it was today that I joined, and I posted this thread the day after. I think I've definitely changed since last year, as you can see from my posting style in that thread. The fifth of May also marked my first year on the forums.

Okay, story time! I created Mayhem Evermore in late 2010ish. The name came as a brainstorm after days of looking at the Thesaurus and putting it away again to think. I'd had a list of words to use, but the final name didn't involve any of them. It wasn't all for nothing, though! It helped to inspire me.

After creating Mayhem a few times (disconnected from Create A Pirate, then ended up deleting her because she didn't turn out the way I wanted), she entered the big wide world as Swashbuckler. Here's a picture of level 14 Mayhem.

She looked kind of different, didn't she? She started as a very... boyish pirate. She never wore corsets, and never wore skirts (well, she still doesn't). I spoke to strangers in a piratey way, getting a lot of attention. That wasn't my goal. I just wanted a very piratey pirate.

As you can see in the picture, I had Mayhem in The Silent Force to start with (my own guild, kind of inactive now), so I would stop getting those random guild invites. I wasn't planning on taking her out of the guild yet, because I'd had experience with other guilds, and I didn't think I'd ever find one to my taste.

I joined the forums on May the 5th, 2011. I had been lurking since November, and I wanted to contribute. I eventually found the Group Memberships part of the User CP, and requested to join the Shadow Sorcerors, and Partners N Crime. Del sent me a guild code, and I removed Mayhem from TSF and added her to PNC. And so it began.

I'm going to be honest. I wasn't expecting much from the guild. I had had negative experiences from guilds in the past, and all of my characters were in guilds run by myself. I wasn't very active on Mayhem when I joined, as I was focusing on Misty, so I didn't learn of how amazing this guild really was.

I finally started leveling Mayhem in early October, after I'd decided I really couldn't be bothered with Misty for a while. I got Mayhem to level... 22ish, until Jason Lockbane prompted me to get off my butt and level Misty again (he was nearing level 50 and I wanted to beat him to it... I didn't).

After I mastered Misty a few days before Christmas, Mayhem became my main pirate. I began to realise what a guild I had joined, and how amazingly LUCKY I was. But when the first Victory Shark fleet happened in January, I decided that this was the guild for me.

I would like to thank everyone for being so awesome. I know you can't help it, but I'd like to thank you anyway. I didn't know I could make such great friends online, but I feel as close to some of you as I am to my real life friends. My biggest thanks goes to Lady Nayana for all she's done for me, from helping to level up, to just being there for a chat.

But just remember one thing, PNC...

I LOVE YOU ALL! <3 <3 <3
