Wow! These Oceans have disappeared much like so many friends I once knew. Too few are still as dedicated as I am to the game.

Frankly, they could have taken this same action last year for the same reason but didn't. So their action is either sudden, or planned. If sudden, then this can be traced to the sheer number of players unable to buy UA with a Game Card since November. That's a loss of $49.75 per person who would have paid 5 months worth of UA. Or from another standpoint, a loss of $4,975 from 100 players, $9,950 from 200 players, $24,875 from 500 players, etc. This, of course, excludes those who have cancelled their credit card subscriptions during this same time period for whatever reasons.

Now, if it was planned, then it's a very calculative move on their part. I hinted about it in another thread. Their new game is set to debut in August (originally June) aimed for kids to buy their $74.99 starter kits. Its $5 less than the annual subscription we pay for POTCO. Or, from another standpoint, $4.65 less had they bought Game Cards from any 8 month period totaling $79.60. Simple aggressive marketing to herd the kids from all current DIMG online games to buy it and subscribe.

Nothing wrong with that really. And why would kids not want it when they can actually play any of their favorite pirate characters with Infinity which can't be done in POTCO. Cant' even pirate with their favorite characters in POTCO. Only complete their quests and earned something for it. That's just how POTCO is structured.

I saw the stuff at Amazon after clicking the link from DIMG's ad. They can buy additional pirate figurines like Davy Jones. Gee, when will we ever see him in POTCO? Kids won't have to wait and that's fine if kids end up liking Disney's new game.

Some will see this in a negative way. Don't. Well, I can't stop you, but look at the positive: ask POTCO if they're willing to offer subscriptions through Amazon like DIMG is willing to do. Gee, how easy it would be to buy an Amazon card and load it up to purchase a subscription for Pirates Online. Gosh I hope they intended that all along. If not, write to them and ask for it. Its a win-win for them all around.

The choice is yours.
