I did the same thing. I thought, "Ah-ha! The patch!"
Or not.
In the meantime I've been forced to play on a craptastic Acer laptop with graphics so bad that at times I can't tell what I'm doing. Oh, and the compass is always blank which makes sailing loads of fun.
