The way Guilds are handled in potco, I find that aspect unlikely, it would think it has to be "Crew" related. Guilds can have 100's of members.

We dont even know IF we'll get ship vs ship pvp in the next update! The inclusion of that has been only speculation to begin with.
I would prefer not having any such affiliations in the game (other than PIRATE thats what we're supposed to be). Having to select one or the other seems likely would limit ones options of gameplay.
I should probably just stay shy of this subject, because I actually have very little interest in POTCO PvP. There are alot more intense/competitive games to address any needs in this area for me. (in 3 months i've pvp'd maybe 3 times total, in which case i won everytime, and just didnt see the point.. lol)

They havent eluded to the fact they will for sure be adding ship/ship pvp, They have definately indicated new quest material, with a story line of the french/spanish islands and thier forces. I find it unlikely that any of it is "exclusively" for pvp.
