I never understood the who idea behind an "elite" guild. What makes any guild elite? Player levels? Experience? History? I really don't think there's much of a truly elite guild in the first place. But that's just my opinion. To me, Elite is more of a state of mind, rather than a status as a player/pirate in the game. More of an ego boost really. And I'm not saying this to hash up a big argument here, so please don't take it that way. I can see in other games that are far more in depths than Pirates currently is, that an Elite guild is perhaps a founding guild, people are from the very very start and have stuck with the game over the years, know the ins and outs, suffered through the ups and downs, something to that effect.

But a pirate level does not an elite player make. What about those players working on second, third, and fourth pirates? Do they only become "elite" when that one particular pirate reaches 30 and not before?
