Blackjack is simple best hand to 21 wins. You go over 21 you bust and you lose your money bet. All face cards are worth 10 and the ace is worth 1 or 11. All the players are against the dealer. The dealer must stay at value 17. You start off with 2 cards. From then you have several options.
Hit- Ask the dealer to give you another card.
Stay- Stay at the value you have now and move onto the next player. Again, the dealer must stay at 17.
Split- If you have 2 of the same value cards, you can split them playing the dealer twice what you bet. From that you can play each one individualy. Good when you have 2 value 10 cards or 2 aces.
Double down- Once again you pay the dealer twice what you bet but this time its like hitting. The dealer gives you one card but thats it. You cant make another move and it goes to the next player. Good when your cards add up to 10 or 11.
Remember suits dont matter. Also look at the dealers card he has that will give you a hint on what to do. Lets say you have 15 and youre afraid you might bust. Look at the dealers one faced up card. If he has 6 or lower (except ace), I would stay because the dealer must keep hitting until he has 17 or higher. Since theres a good chance that you will get a face card or a 10, the chances of the dealer going to bust is high.
Hope this helps. And to anwser youre question, no basic access players cant play poker... at least i dont think.
