Degrading your enemy's effectiveness

With blade weapons there seem to be three main skills that degrade the effectivness of your enemy's attack: 1) Brawl 2) Taunt 3) Throw dirt.

My typical strategy when I face an enemy way above my rep level is to Hit them with a grenade from distance => switch to dagger => Throw daggers (usually at least one will miss) => just as they come in range Throw dirt => switch to cutlass => Taunt => Hack away for all I'm worth => when Taunt/Throw dirt wear off head butt with Brawl.

I'm thinking this keeps me using my most effective weapons at the various ranges and keeps the enemy at his least effective. So when I layer Taunt on top of Throw dirt do I get an additive effect? Is the enemy going to miss with more swings when both are active? Seems to me they do. Anyone have any info?"
