I had a similar problem the other day.
Cannot connect to gameserver.piratesonline.com:7667 is the message I was getting.
It cleared up for me when I restarted my laptop, but im not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. I think it was related to my internet connection at the time. Or a problem with thier servers. Technically you've already connected to some of thier systems to authenticate your account, and load your selection of pirates. So this leads me to believe it may be some issues happening on thier end occasionally.
Anyone else have any information? Any would probably be better than mine. hehe
