just wanna make sure i understand.
so you were on a boat with 12 gunners shooting grape shot?
first, that's awesome you GOT a full crew and i would think the odds would be greatly in your favor for taking out a boat with a single captain.
your solution is awesome for that scenario....and i'm jealous you found it before me
so if i understand correctly, if i was out soloing and found a ship where i could employ this tactic...i would have to get close enough to effectively use grape shot and then take out the captain (assuming he's solo) then sink the ship.
(scratches head)
ya know what... the more i think about the idea...it would be pretty darn piratey cool to roll up on some glitching ship while you were soloing, pull up and stop, and systematically pick off the crew with grape shot...then sink em.
stuff of pirate legend me thinks.

I tried this tonight on a few cheaters - worked spectacularly. I forgot that GRAPE SHOT stuns - when you are stunned, you cannot attack (back) so just sitting there shooting them over and over with grape shot WORKS.
Use grape shot on multiple targets. (Remember the Ghost ship flag ships? If you never boarded one and always ran, you deserve to not understand.) Note that while round shot is better for assassination, grape shot stuns. So, either switch back and forth, or stick with just grape. (Hit them 40 times with grape instead of two times with round shot...but who cares?) Once they are dead, their auto-repair glitch is GONE. You can then just battle them with normal, conventional methods.
Was on a war frigate, frigate, light galleon, and frigate - was able to take down full-crew light sloops, full crew war sloops, full crew war frigates with my crew of four to six. The light sloop kept shooting me personally with explosive. (OK, even my lvl 40 can't survive 5219 damage in one hit.) But it did them no good at all, as we were not using the glitch they were - so losing the driver (me) meant I flopped down for a moment...when I came back, broadsides were done recharging. BLAMO. Immensely satisfying to hear the light sloop sink on one side, war frigate sink on the other.
I guess the next improvement is to convince the crew to STAGGER their grape shots. Or maybe not...the first shot to hit, determines the winner. And the poor glitchers have nothing to fight back with.

(For them to waste time with grape shot gives them nothing; only effective against someone cheating...just a normal light stun otherwise.)
