Open your skill panel and set it to cannons. On each ammo type is the number of rounds you currently are carrying. The two other ways to find out, are: get on a cannon, or go to an ammo shop.

Rotfl Basil. They can't quite understand what you mean, until they try to help someone else, on that other person's 'nades quest. Is it fair to assume that someone got you sent to jail yesterday? :-)
VIL: When helping someone on their grenades quest, DEMAND that they tell you how many crates and barrels they need, after EVERY search they do. Tell them you are counting the number of attacks on your weapon, therefore can't count both. Anything. Tell them any lie, to get them to slow down. Honestly...they probably don't realize you are still fighting the navy mob from three barrels back.
