Ok, so before I give my way of doing gernades, I'm not 'totally sure' what are considered glitches (was the fence a glitch? I don't think so... what I believe now is a true glitch - we cant run through the fence but they can... that to me is a glitch) so my method below may / may not fit...
As I'm sure you've read I've been optspoken a few times this week about how the latest fixes are a joke... so the answer here is just to answer the question.
Of course the way I did it was Hex Shot and the Gypsys at Padres Beach - but only until I got up a few levels to get Firebomb. Then Gernades just beacme part of my 500 REP Weapon Rotation (Instructed by Ironhawk... we're gonna miss that Hex Shot
).
As part of the rotation, the gerds would pull in about 50-60 REP in their part of the cycle, more once other weapons began to master and were left out of the rotation...
So thats how I did it (and the reason being... I was TERRIBLE at the fence... I couldnt hit the broadside of a barn with them things! LOL
)
