I think that I have posted my suggestions here at least once before. Did it fall on deaf ears? Probably, but after thinking about my suggestions, I have deceided to elaborate on them just a bit more...
Weather (at least while sailing): The Caribbean is notorius for Tropical Storms and Hurricanes. Many a true pirate ship was sunk due to poor sailing, but many made it through also. It would be very cool to have to captain your ship through a storm. Take that one step further...taking on another ship while dealing with the storm (i.e. The Pearl vs. The Dutchman in POTC3). Though I will say that having a malestrom is a bit much. Having storms pop up would be a great way to bring up sailing skill. If you should be unlucky enough to perish during the storm, maybe throw in going to "The Locker" instead of jail?
Some one above me said that guilds should have building to call there own. I agree. When forming a guild, you would then have a base of operations to work out of.
Add more places from the actual movies....Singapore would be really cool, and how about a real "ShipWreck Cove"? Isla de Muerta was replaced by Disney as the Devil's Anvil (probably due to the "death" thing).
Just some random thoughts.....
