Ok, Tandykins, let me save you afew $$.. In Target, you can buy 2 different ones.
One is made by GE, and costs $15. It is standard two plug, and they are color coded, for the electronically impared. There is an inline volume control for the headset. no mute button. The mic is built in and permanently attached. The head band is the OVER THE TOP style. This is probably the one that Sarah is using, since it's the one I recommended to her.
The second is $20 and is made by Logitech. It is foldable, and the mic can de unplugged, It also has the standard 2 color coed plugs, and has inline volume control, and it has mute button. The headband is the BEHIND THE NECK style.
I have one of the first, and 2 of the second. I use the first one the most at home, since I can sit in the recliner and lean back kagainst the headrest of the chair and not crush the headband against my neck. I broke the first of the foldable ones while travling, repaired it, and keep it at work, and the second of those is the one I use when I travel, since it folds upi so neatly.

The sound quality is nice, but I wouldn't use either of these for listening to music. (Audiophile!!!) I wouldn't pend $50 or more for these if you are just planning to use them for ingame, or other, chat over the VOIP These more than suffice for gaming!
