Just an couple of add ons here:
1) make sure you and him are RAISING the bet, not 'calling' the bet - the computer will never fold (or rarely) if just calling (if after two passes on round one - call and do round two, if after two passes of raising on round two - then stand up and sit back down to cut your losses - unless one of you can win the hand for sure
)
2) if the computer does stick around for one turn of betting - you a) get a bit of free gold cauzse they contribute to your pot and b) the 'back and forth' raising usually goes from 20 gold to 40 or even 60 gold (because the one or two NPC players would of raised by this much and you had to match it) making the transfer faster
