Unable to log on to Game: Solution

Over the weekend I was unable to log on to the game. I kept getting an error that said they were unable to verify my account. When I tried to log onto the game website I would get a message that account verification was unavailable at the time.

I had figured that since I had just received updates for the game that there was something wrong with my computer. When I went to work on Monday I found I could log onto the game website but I still could not log on from my computer at home.

After trying to figure out firewall settings, IE security settings, deleting history, temp files, and cookies I suddenly realized the problem.

Friday afternoon I was playing with some old software and I had manually reset my computer time and date back to the year 2000. I had forgotten to reset it to the correct year when I was done. So I changed the date back to the current date and tried to log on. Voile! It worked. I was now able to log on to the game.

So evidently if your computer date is not current then you will not be able to log on to the POTC Online game.
