The Headstone Quest

This quest was supposed to be the second chapter main quest after Black Pearl. Players who finished Black Pearl quest before December 2007 got this quest but it ended on Valentina, the gypsy on Padres. Then Black Pearl boss battle was deactivated and players were unable to finish main quest for months. When Disney reactivated the boss battle this quest was removed.

Id heard of that scene a few times, thanks for posting Iron.

I do think its quite possible they put this back into the game, I think they have got alot of stuff back in now, that they originally ripped out in the race to opening to public.

Hard to say, I know the "Kraken" has been a big thing in POTCO, everyone wants to see it in the game. This may have changed their direction some.

I remember that from the first time I completed the Pearl quest so it had to stay in after Dec 07 not sure when it came out but was gone by the time I finished it on my second pirate in the summer of 08.

I'll call the following conjecture: Remember the blocked cave entrance (to nowhere) on the old Padres? The Headstone Quest used that. You see, Jack Sp... err, Captain Jack Sparrow knew that the powerful stone was buried someplace on PDF. Actually, many had heard rumors that the mythical Headstone was located on the volcano island. Though no one had any idea exactly where on the island it might be. Beckett has his quarry, but savvy pirates know that would be like trying to find a single drop of water in an ocean. But with the right information, a large cache of explosives, and a little luck, maybe a pirate could locate the Headstone. Oh, to control the wind and sail the fastest ship on the water, The Black Pearl - that me hearties is freedom!

Will the Headstone Quest ever make an appearance in the game? The question is, where on the new Padres Del Fuego would the Overseers of the Caribbean hide the Headstone...?

If my memory serves me correctly (where did it go? lol) the Black Pearl quest was originally divided up into chapters which is why you see the Chapter 4 for the start of the Headstone Quest.

At the time I think it was planned on being "Chapter 4".

Here are the chapters of "Lore".

Chapter I: Who is Jolly Roger?
Chapter II: A Tale of Two Islands
Chapter III: Rise of the Privateer
Chapter IV: Curse of the Muertos Moon
Chapter V: From the Ashes - The New Port Royal Rises
Chapter VI: EITC - Plots & Rumors
Chapter VII: From the Ashes - A New Tortuga
Chapter VIII: Fiery Winds of Change

Assuming they would not have to redesign things at some point to get back to their original plans (or stall with certain events), the next story chapter would have been IV which is where the redesigns started taking place.

Some of these we have seen already. We have a new Tortuga and Port Royal. We had that time before the island were remade when all we heard were EITC rumors of The Black Guard. We had the Curse thing for while. Unless they build on the role events and these items this sounded like a great plan. It shows they had stuff planed. It brings hope to me. It makes me feel like they weren't winging it or making it up as they went.

We have seen all of those chapters so far. That is from the official site actually.

What I was trying to say is that the first 3 chapters were likely planned stages, with the next story quest to be chapter 4.

Instead because they had to strip the game to get it online quickly, we ended up with events, which may have been planned for chapter 5 for example... Curse of the Muertos Moon, and then chapters representing the rebuild of the Caribbean getting them back on track to the original plan (like putting everything back in they had to strip out at the start).

Will be interesting to see what number they assign the next story quest chapter in the game, chapter 2? 10? 11? (I suspect Chapter 9 will be the new caves... and/or the Casa Muertos Guild)
