Are You Running Slow/Laggy With Vista?
I went from laggy with minimum detail to no lag with full detail:
1. Right click the desktop (Any empty space) 2. Click Personalize on the bottom of the menu 3. Click Theme 4. From the drop down menu change to "Windows Classic" 5. Click Apply or OK This will save a good chunk of memory unloading the Vista special effects. Also frees up your video card alot. |

Good tip. The reason this happens is because of the WDM (Windows Desktop Management) which is new in Vista. When switching to the classic view, it frees up a ton of resources and taxing of the GPU to apply to more important tasks, like POTCO.
Thanks for sharing this with everyone here.Loot Hard!

Actually, it *should not* make a difference (unless playing windowed).
Then again, it's possible that Microsoft screwed up and made it impossible to offload the desktop engine while in full-screen mode. God, I'm SO glad I'm on XP-x64. |
