I'd save for the Frigate. If you're good at poker, I'd play with a $2000 or so fallout: anything more lost, and you're not good at poker... still, my advice ain't necessarily good advice.

I'd go for the frigate too. I find more people will board one of them as opposed to a galleon. I think the reason is they can see what is going on easier. Or maybe cause it will hold up better. Myself my 2 pirates that are high enough only have the war frigates. One has 3 and the other has 2. I have to sell one of the 3 soon and re buy it so I can get more gold.
But sometimes it seems as if everyone has them. I don't think the number of broadsides really make a difference and the same with cargo space. |

I have both ships and imo the War Frigate is the best. i can name five reasons right off the bat....
1. the war galleon is slower than the War frigate 2.the war galleon may hold more cargo but its armor isnt that good so if you barely survive getting full cargo on the war frigate, then there is no chance you can get full cargo on the war galleon. 3. the war frigate has front cannons 4. the war frigate does big damage with ram speed. 5. It just plain old looks cool! lol

1. Speed is not that important, prosperity in your ship is (War Galleon all the way) 2. War Galleon actually takes more broadsides, its only fault here is a bigger target to hit. If your not surviving on the war galleon, ye need more practice mate! 3. Only real advantage of anything, and not required. 4. So does the War Galleon, I dont think there is any real difference in this. 5. The War Galleon with its sails looks awesome, the 'look' is a personal thing obviously. I find the Frigate the ugliest boat in the game! War Galleon does have its challenges perhaps, but I think the payoffs of cargo overall make it an excellent choice. Most those pushing the frigate are either SvS players where the Frigate likely is better, or have difficulty with sailing. I love my galleons, and I master sailing first on every pirate. |

If they are yellow or red and you can kill them in large groups still--hence, grenades or the staff--then it is worth it. Another thing to do is to tag along with one who meets the above conditions, and, with a weapon that meets that first condition, tagging a hit (just one will do) on all the enemies as they get destroyed.
Poker is the conservative way, blackjack the faster should it go in your favor. If you decide to cheat, make sure you just entered the table. I'd suggest leaving after every moderate or large win, or leaving after a lot of small ones. Sailing can get you the money as well. You can go on to an Ideal server, launch onto a public ship via a dinghy of large size, and just sit there and do other stuff or participate until you dock. |

i prefer the war galleon over the war frigate. i'm an excellent captain and i very rarely sink. the war galleon requires more skill to stay afloat.

frigate, its faster, more guns and you have front guns in a galleon its hard to see(when your on the cannons) because you can only be on the side, as for more money I just play blackjack and cheat then when I get alot of money from cheating I just leave and then go right back at it.

haha if you have a frigate you most have diffuculty with sail WRONG! i just like to be fast, like circling around other ships and sending them broadsides while they cant get a hit because they cant keep up, and the galleon has the most armor right? sooo why do you need all that armor becasue you take alot hits and you dont want to sink?

". The War Galleon with its sails looks awesome, the 'look' is a personal thing obviously. I find the Frigate the ugliest boat in the game!"
-Zeppers I like the frigate more because it's ugly!. The galleons look like your steriotypical pirate ship, and seeing them all the time gets boring. Real pirates most often used sloops, due to their speed. Pirates would want to board a ship and take it, which the lumbering galleon would have trouble doing. The frigate looks more agresive to me, and though this was rare, some pirates actually used frigates. The trouble with them was the fact that they were military vessels, and that they would be harder to take. The Blackbeard and Bartholomew Roberts both had frigates at one point or another (the Queen Anne's Revenge and the Royal Fortune, respectively). Okay, I when from looks to historical accuracy at random so my post doesn't make sense any more. The point is, FRIGATES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

And although the Galleon may collect gold faster (though I think I remember a thread started by OFX that said ships with smaller holds get better quality crates or something and that they all essentially got the same loot [them being the War class]), one you get a War Frigate, the most expensive treasure there, you have less need of gold period. As well, the difference needed for the new ship would seem vast again, while it is smaller in the mind if you get the F first. |

Frigates are for people that have less experience sailing, who think they get more because it costs more. A war frigate is also good for stockpiling gold, when you keep hitting 65,000, from sailing your war galleon all the time. |
