I am at the last part of the thing about Carver in the Black Pearl list thing, and it says to go back to Joshamee but it looks like I have to have unlimited access, do I have to have unlimited access or is there some way around it?? Thanks!

You can only go up to about level 8 or so with limited access. After that you're forced to buy it...

Level 8?! Dear me, I'm level 12 and I still have limited access waiting to get unlimited access. I think you can only go to level 7 with all your skills. So I think somewhere around level 12 is the cap for limited access.

Yes, I did have the same Problem and yes you do have to upgrade to unlimited before you complete the james pidgely story line quest. And yes Lvl 7 is the highest you can go on any weapon skill with basic membership, although im not certain what the overall noto lvl cap is.

Nope, there isn't a way around it. You'll have to get unlimited to complete the story quests.

I read somewhere that the Notoriety level cap for basic pirates was 12, with one exception, pirates that WERE unlimited, that have changed to basic status. In that case, they maintain thier Notoriety level I believe, but lose access to all unlimited access weapons. And the weapons, ships, etc they have are reverted back to the best Basic can allow. Pay unlimited again, get it all back.

Furthest I ever got questing on basic was up until I had to see Tia about the voodoo doll, and got prompted to upgrade (somewhere around lvl7 depending on wether your killing stuff or questing).
