I agree with EX8404... there's no sign that the merchants are going anywhere... but the only reason we had the storage there is because there was no direct access to our material.
Having to see a tat artist each time you wanted to trade your art made some sense, but going to a tailor to change your own clothes or a jeweler to swap rings made less sense. But, besides the drag and drop weapon choices there's no indication that you still won't have to go to those places to change appearance items. Even if we could swap ALL of that - merchants will still have to exist for initial purchases, selling of unwanted items and quests. |

well true E.t.C, thats what they function to be in Runescape, and I shall repeat it once more, the Loot system once it comes out after the Inventory and Weapons update better be like the controlled commerce in Runescape!!!!!

Guild hideouts mates? There's more than 600,000 guilds all over the caribbean so there wouldbe a LOT of hideouts and lairs mate.

Ya, guild hideouts not really feasible, but those for, say classes of pirates....lol...like the good, the bad, and the ugly...i dunno....like taverns for hanging out in...but with training, mebbe banking.....but more piratey,,mebbe on each island...like you join French or Spanish...why not join an island hideout and that be your base....taverns are so....so......."civilian"....

I think they could offer guild islands,halls, etc etc. They offer homes on toon town and I play another game and they offer them for each guild and have different islands to choose from. I would say that game is as large as pirates probably larger. The problem come down to where to spend the dev teams time. There are lots of cool thing and lots of ideas they could add but does it add to the game. Lets face it they just announced a big update with all kinds of new weps, moves and inventory and by post 157 in the thread about it we are talking about what they could add next. WHY? because this is very cool but isn't going to keep you busy for 6 months same with guild halls its a neat idea and your gonna be all wow when ya get it but after you have walked around in it for 2 days your gonna be like ok now what do we do. I'm not complaining I love the new update and will be glad when it goes live (but I'm easily amused) but I would much rather see a new story line in the future than more window dressing

Well, aye - there a LOT of guilds. The guild house would be virtual - a place members would TP to or walk through a 'hidden' door to.

No lads.... Its what William said, that Toontown has its own server for a house. D itself mentioned Pirates hideouts and Guild hideouts and more specifically Guild islands and ships in its recent opinion survey. I doubt that they are actually 600,000 guilds though. Nontheless it would not affect Game PLay of current servers as it mostly would be having a server of its own, and is more of a reason to believe that we can hold many items and weapons.....

This thread is near epic in lenght and breath of opinions!
 I for one can not wait for this update! I asked D for all this! Now D will deliver. I would still like to see the following: Eye patches, peg legs, hooks, etc. More Ships More clothing That said I am happy with the game and will renew my memberships when due! |

Yeah who knows whats in store for new clothes and new jewelry are we gonna get necklaces and about that barrel with the grenades in it i think thats ammo or for grenades/cannons.

Jesse Blue Most pirates say that these will better there chances of defeating Jolly Roger, but where is the fun in that? The difficulty of defeating Jolly Roger is the fun part. Plus, you no longer have the ability to switch between any of your weapons in the heat of a difficult battle. I just can't accepst the idea. Although I understand your concern regarding pirates defeating Jolly too easily, remember that Jolly has been searching for these same weapons, so his forces will be well equipped too. I think you'll find the odds in battle will be pretty even to the levels they are now. More challenges are on the horizon... These are exact quotes from the grog blog. It sounds like we'll have new enemies to go with the new weapons! This will make things more interesting. Hope these "new" enemies aren't just souped-up, renamed versions of older enemies! |
