No it won't. Disney isn't going to say, "Well, we're making ships. Let's drop in the Kraken with NO story and no quest while we're at it and expect them to be happy." IF it ever comes out it will be at the end of a new story quest. Why are people so obsessed with the thing anyways? I've been okay without it for 3 years, why do I need it now?

Well, what I meant was, a hint the story quest or a post on the grog blog about something mysterious could come out shortly following the Sotl release.

Biggest problem with the Kraken, We can't kill it. This takes place between the 1st and 2nd movie. So we can NOT kill the kraken. As we seen in the third movie, it won’t quit, so there is no "Scaring it off" No matter what we do, it will end up dinking the ship. My guess is that we have to fight it to a certain point, it then sinks the ship, then we have to escape Davy Jones Locker somehow. That is the only way for it to happen.

Joshua we could damage it to an extent for it to retreat but this isnt based on the movie if it was beckett wouldnt be here yet and Elizabeth and will would be pirating it with those characters and world but it doesnt follow the story it like the movies never happened.

When did the developers ever say the game takes place between movies 1 and 2? Do you realize how bad of a move that would be on their end to do that? That would leave so much gameplay out that this would have been better as a console game than an MMO.

No where has it ever said, "POTCO is between movies 1 and 2." No where. I want to slap the person that started this rumor, because whoever did wasn't thinking logically when they wanted to fool people.

People, don't be gulliable. We're talking about an MMO. Disney would never limit the game to two movies. If they did that we wouldn't get to much in the game. We captured the black pearl, didn't we? That chapter was completely different from the first movie, so who says we can't kill the Kraken?

Please people, don't think that way. Can someone please tell me what evidence they have to say the game takes place between these two movies? There's none.

The problem for this game is that there are currently 3 movies, taking place in different time. So for this game, you have to pick a time period, you can't have all 3 times at once, otherwise if a person in movie dies, is he going to be alive or dead? If there was only 1 POTC movie, there wouldn't be all these probs.

No its taken place in the potco world just with different story line in Q&A a developer answered that question. they did this because they wanted total freedom with it all. You get it now if u don i will make u walk the plank.

I'm sorry, I guess you haven't been exposed to the Raven Cove quest yet, so I'll explain it to you.

Developers have the power to take away NPCs in the game, and in the Raven's Cove quest you kill one of the ghost NPCs, and YOU'LL never see him again, but if you start a new pirate, that ghost NPC, I believe he's called Bellrog, will appear once again, until you defeat him later on in the game.

Disney can't afford to limit what they can do in an MMO, period.

You asked for evidence. Here it is. I personally made this huge compilation LONG ago on the relation between this game and the movies.

The events of Pirates of the Caribbean online which include the Royal Navy stealing the Black Pearl, several pirates helping to bring it back, Jolly Roger searching for Jack Sparrow and his several invasions and raids on the many islands and settlements of the Caribbean seem to have occured somewhere between the first movie and second movie. Here are the reasons why this statement is verified :
*The pirate captain Jack Sparrow is alive and well, hiring pirates to do his deed of saving the Black Pearl and running away from the hands of Jolly Roger. Jack has also not yet gone to search for the picture of the key of the Dead Man's Chest.
*Captain Hector Barbossa has already been resurrected by voodoo mistress Tia Dalma, who sees the results of Jack Sparrow's search for the Dead Man's Chest, as she seeks to rally the pirate lords of the Caribbean
*Will Turner is alive, and has not yet gone in search of Captain Jack Sparrow in deal with Lord Cutler Beckett. He has also not died and replaced as captain of the Flying Dutchman
*Davy Jones has not yet seeked Jack Sparrow's payment of his debt, and his crew is still mutated and exists in the heart of Isla Tormenta.
*Elizabeth Swann is not yet in captivity under Lord Beckett, and has not yet gone to look for William Turner with the help of Jack Sparrow. She is also not yet the Pirate King and stays in her mansion wearing her normal British clothes.
*Governor Weatherby Swann has not surrendered to Lord Cutler Beckett and he has gone on a journey outside the Caribbean, and is yet to come back. He will be dissatisfied to hear the news of an undead Jolly Roger attacking his mansion.
*Lord Cutler Beckett is alive, and has not gained control of the Dead Man's Chest. It can be assumed though that he has not yet landed on Port Royal, that the East India Trading Company is active under his orders to destroy the pirates. Another fact is that islands of Port Royal and Tortuga could not have self-destructed under his watch as this does not happen yet during the movies.
*Tia Dalma has not yet been transformed into Calypso, and has also not gone in search of Jack Sparrow into Davy Jones' Locker.

The story occurs between the first two movies. Jack Sparrow is not so involved in this story, as he has many other adventures far away from the hands of Jolly Roger. Meanwhile voodoo priestess, Tia Dalma notices that the only strong Pirate force in the Caribbean, 'The Black Pearl', has been captured by the Navy. She rallies together the most deadly of buccaneers to warn them of Jolly Roger's dark force rising in the Caribbean.

With more pirates joining the cause it only intensifies the strength of the undead army and further more with the coming of agents of the French and Spanish governments, Avaricia and Porc. As she sees further into the future she notices that the future actions of Jack Sparrow will trigger a possible extinction of Pirate lords. So she orders Jack to bring about the Fourth Brethren meeting, and at the same time brings Caspian pirate lord Hector Barbossa back to life to attend the conclave and help certain pirates to keep Jolly Roger at bay by supplying firearms to pirates told to stop at Barbossa's temporary home, his Grotto. Barbossa travels to and fro between Pantano river and the Grotto.

After his power rises in the caves and settlements of the Caribbean, Jolly Roger sends his new pirate puppets, the Casa de Muertos, who were brought back to life after a skirmish between the East India Company's ships and the pirate leader Captain Walter's ships, to Port Royal where they sent errands to Swashbucklers who stopped by, to retrieve them artifacts. Soon after, the undead's invasions of several islands begin. The search for items relating El Patron, Raven's Cove nd blades being cursed occurs along the way, as Jolly Roger begins his major attacks. After many months, Lord Cutler Beckett finally arrives in the reconstructed Port Royal (reconstructed after its mysterious destruction)which happens when the Governor has returned after his long voyage and Jack Sparrow learns of his debt to Jones. During this time Captain Chevalle is freed from the gallows of Port Royal to attend the conclave. Mistress Ching and Eduardo Villuanelva are invited during Jack's search for a crew in Tortuga. The Kraken boss battle will occur during this time.

Pertaining to your claim that the developers will lose out on this -revelation-, the only suitable solution would be a feature of many MMOs - expansions. Now why haven't they thought of that...

Everyone look at it like i'm looking at it:
*After you beat El Patron and get the cutlass you want, you get a new emotion saying Check Hand
*Check Hand says this: You dont appear to have the Curse of Doom, which is like a black hole, IN the 2nd movie.
*In the 2nd movie Captain Jack had this black hole, which make the kraken follow him. the kraken is coming out this year maybe, and i believe that a new villian is coming to the carribean from the 2nd movie as well Davy Jones, his amry is already in Isla Tormenta, so he is bound to come out soon...
