Question Awesome Radeon x1650 errors. help please?

My computer, which is more than qualified to handle pirates, always crashes after roughly 30 seconds, locking my computer up to the point of hard restart. However, my laptop, which is a piece dell d600, runs it fine. When restarted, windows always cites "Driver error." I've tried the new ATI drivers (which suck), Omega drivers (which did nothing). Is there any fix for ATI AGP cards that anyone's found that work?

Thanks!

Desktop:
AMD 64 4000+ (single core)
ATI Radeon x1650 Pro AGP
4 gig Ram
Windows XP Sp2

1) Go to Start | Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer.
2) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Disney\Disney Online\PiratesOnline.
3) Double click on game_options.txt.
4) Make sure "state" has "working" on the line directly below it. If you see "attempted_working" change it to "working."
5) Under "api", please change the text from "default" to "pandadx9".
6) Save the file then launch the game.

If you don't have this file on your computer, you will need to create one in the PiratesOnline directory.

1) Go to Start | Run.
2) Type "Notepad" in the Open input box then click OK.
3) Add the following text precisely as you see it below:
state
working
api
pandadx9
4) Click File | Save As
5) Name the file "game_options.txt"
6) Save the file to C:\Program Files\Disney\Disney Online\PiratesOnline then launch the game.

These settings changes will instruct Pirates Online to only use DirectX 9 as the graphic API.

The suggestion above should make all the difference in the world. If you would please post here again and let us know if that solved ur problem. I assume the memory leak is stopped now and ur successfully playing the game or you would follow up on here. Lemme know for sure however as there are other alternatives.
