I concur on this, however keeping it all in perspective. This "IS" what Disney wants!!! To slow us down in finishing existing (or even future content).

Perhaps have the game start to offer reputation bonus's for using advanced weapons, for being continued battling as a pirate master, etc. This may help with the current rep system in fitting into raising current weapon levels.

It is likely that all these things are part of whats slowing them down, in any form of implementation of a notoriety cap raise.
