Once you have a better ship and a better cannon you can attack some ships if you choose or better yet choose parley and most times they back down and pay you off to go away. If you have to fight there is another post here someplace that explains the best angles and powerlvls for each vessel. As you begin to sink better and better ships you earn new cannons, better ships and figureheads and the treasures and music you are asking about. Be sure to log in before you begin playing or you cant transfer anything.
