That's interesting because today I decided to level my beta character who has been sitting very close to level 30. As soon as I hit 30 the "unlock staff" quest showed up in my journal and I was sent to Tia Dalma for tasks. That's about as far as I went with it before logging in to open, but it's there for me to work on. Will be interesting to see if I can get it.

Like you, my Gunner quests are still showing up in my journal, too. Sorry to hear the Goliath/Pearl battle is still buggy. There are sill a lot of bugs in the game. When I was working the quests for Ewan, every time I went to see him he said the same thing (which is what Sparrow had said before he sent me to him). Thankfully my journal gave me the correct information. Hopefully they'll get some of these things worked out soon.
