Because of the way our accounts are set up, if this goes to open it will mean that, in spite of having 2 unlimited accounts:

* My kids will not able to play with each other
* My husband and I will not be able to play our original pirates (GM and co-gm of our guild) at the same time.
* We will also not be able to play our other pirates, paired up in our sister guilds, at the same time.

IMO, if done purposely, this is a really bad change.
I agree 100%, POTCO seems to target not just kids, not just adults, but FAMILY. Its a game that the family can play together, and with the linked account option, it allows a family to play together affordably. Forcing families to get separate accounts for all the members takes it outside the range of affordable for many families, especially in todays economy.

Disney has always been considered a family oriented company, removing this feature is one of the first i've seen that contradicts their long time commitment to families.
