I can't give you a time frame but I have it straight from the Pirates Support phone line that yes indeed updates are in the works. They won't of course say for when, nor how big, but I can tell you this and hope it helps.

I was more of a pixie less of a pirate up until about two weeks ago. The Hollow was sitting on a mere couple of months with only a single minor change. Then they got in one 16 hour update a slew of all new content some of which totally changed parts of the Hollow. We're talking new meadows, new games, new shops and collections, the whole nine.

Translating the time frame of how long it's been since a pirates update, the need for new content, the detail put into graphics, (which is no where near as good on the Hollow so that takes less time there.) and a few other factors, I'd say that what I was told about Hollow updates should apply here as well. When I asked just before their update why it was taking so long I was basically told the bigger the update the longer it takes.

Now I don't know pirates yet half as well as I know the Hollow's inner workings. But I do get good business. Good business sense would be to do an equally massive update (if not bigger) on the older game whose membership costs more as you did on the younger game whose membership costs less.

All this adds up in my opinion to D keeping all new updates for pirates very hush hush till the absolute last minute. Having never been on it I don't know if everything new hits Test first, but if it doesn't all go there first you can bet the new updates won't. I know you long term pirates are sick and tired of hearing this, but hold on, it is coming.
