IMHO, officers should not be able to be deleted by anyone other than the guildmaster.
This is already the case, officers can only be removed from the guild by the guildmaster. This is why a few guilds have resorted to making everyone an officer..

Whether the guildmaster should have the only removal right is a subject that I offer for debate. I can see that a large guild might want to allow its officers to remove unruly members, however, I think there should be restrictions on this. Perhaps, the game should send a message to the guildmaster's email account when a guild member is removed, saying which officer did it and the removed member's name. Especially, I think an officer should only be permitted to remove one member in a given 24-hour period.
I agree, and disagree here. The guildmaster receiving a notification seems like a good idea, but it should be given an option to turn on and off.

The parts I disagree about are, one member being ejected in a 24-hour period, and the guild master having only removal rights. These both would be bad to do in my opinion. The point of having officers would be meaningless then.

If a GM had the only removal rights, there would be nothing you can do once the GM quits, other than leave the guilds. And if officers are limited to one removal in 24 hours.. that just makes it impossible for an officer to boot troublesome members (say an issue took place, only one of the people involved could be ejected a day).

The reason that a guild has officers in the first place is the GM trusts the member enough to give them responsibilities. If the GM trusts the officer, then they should be given the ability to recruit, and eject freely. The reason that a lot of guilds have been getting crashed are because the GM does not select the right officers.
