I could see cannon defense being used in some quests. Possibly the new fishing, too.

All these minigames could be areas in a new storyline we'll need to do, and the developers want us to have more fun, instead of fighting enemies over and over again.

But who knows, only the developers. I feel sorry for them, because it feels as if all their creativity is going down the drain because some boss and Disney doesn't think it's good enough.
I don't care for the weapons anymore as I said. I am happy with what I've got. I just wish people would quit going for some weapon that clearly isn't going to drop for them out of the blue. What we need are more quests on each island, and new NPC's added to the current ones. How about a Bounty for ships or something. Make things interesting, but get rid of this childs game we know...
