What was your reasoning behiend naming your first pirate?

I went with one of their names for my first Pirate Ben Swordmonger POTCO was my first online game and I wasn't sure I'd like it and stick around, Well that was over 2 years ago and I'm still here. I chose custom names for my other pirates. Wolf Larsen is named for a Sea Captain character in the Jack London novel "The Sea Wolf". I'm Cherokee and of the Wolf Clan of that tribe, so my next two pirates were named Mike Tahlequah. Tahlequah is the capitol of the cherokee nation and originally my home town. And my 4th pirate Mike Night Wolf.
